new work by GREG BAHR

Opening Reception: 6-9 PM Friday, September 7th, 2007
ART DEPOT presents Urban Landscapes by Greg Bahr. Realism, abstraction and lush layers of paint create these explorations of our urban environment. The exhibition is at the ART DEPOT Gallery, located at 1717 Texas Ave. The exhibition runs from September 7th- September 28th, 2007. The opening reception is from 6-9 PM Friday, September 7th, 2007.
Bahr says of his current work “It involves studying my environment and the landscapes
with in. These landscapes are formed by taking parts of my everyday life and
placing them together, creating a unique relationship between the elements.
Images I see repeatedly stored in my memory make their way into my art.
“Multiple layers, perspective, as well as volumetric forms are used to create
depth and a sense of space with in a two-dimensional surface. The repetition
of forms is another component. The forms act alone and also work together to
create a whole. Through painting and photography I am able to express these
experiences while creating new ones.”
