ART DEPOT presents the poignantly personal and powerful works of Houston artists Patrick Medrano and Katy Anderson. Medrano & Anderson often work together using photography, sculpture, and painting to create complex commentaries involving social structures, word play, and childhood memories. Their work will be on exhibit as part of Lubbock's First Friday Art Trail, December 7th, 2007 form 6 - 9PM. This event is free and open to the public.
Medrano is a sculptor and painter while Anderson specializes in photography. The artists recently obtained a grant to complete interactive art works that allow for the traditional idealology that art cannot be touched. Both artists took part in the traveling exhibition “Camp Marfa”. Anderson has developed her nostalgic photography into several powerful large scale pieces, while Medrano has recently shown at the G Gallery in Houston and took part in the Orange Show benefit auction.
The exhibition can be seen from December 7th-23rd , 2007.
The reception is part of the citywide First Friday Art Trail on Friday, December 7th, 2007 from 6PM until 9PM.
