- PRESS RELEASE-
Janna Williams & Charles Neumann present MFA Thesis Exhibitions
April 6th – April 20th, 2007
Art Depot
presents Janna L.
Williams, MFA Thesis Exhibition.
Williams, a native of Houston,
uses nontraditional methods
and materials to examine the varying levels of clarity within memory. Using wax,
latex, Japanese papers and stitching Williams work questions the ways in which
we re-experience, acknowledge, or choose to ignore memory. The exhibition can be
seen from Friday, April 6th
– April 20th.
The reception is part of the citywide First Friday Art Trail on Friday, April 6th,
2007 from 6PM until 9PM. The
exhibition is free and open to the public.
Art Depot Annex presents Charles Neumann, MFA Thesis Exhibition. Neumann,
born in Laredo, TX, has developed sculptural work concerned with the complex
relationship between tools and the user of the instruments. Neumann structures
tools that cannot be used for maximum efficiency or the desired purpose. The
tool then creates a paradox of function which stimulates conversation and
communication. The
exhibition can be seen from Friday,
April 6th – April 20th.
The reception is part of the citywide First Friday Art Trail on Friday, April 6th,
2007 from 6PM until 9PM. The
exhibition is free and open to the public.
